LEAGUE BASICS!

Leagues hosted by Fantasy Sports Guild are extremely competitive. Participants must remember that enjoyment of the game is predicated on a certain level of sportsmanship displayed by the participants.

A) One person cannot control more than one team in the same league. Violation of this will lead to cancellation of the teams and expulsion from the game. If an owner finds himself in this situation due to accident, he should e-mail the commissioner immediately and explain the situation.

B) Collusive transactions
Collusion occurs when one team makes moves to benefit another team, without trying to improve its own position. One-sided trades are an obvious example of this. Another example is a player drop made so another team can pick up that player. Teams found in violation of this policy will be cancelled, and their owners prohibited from participating in future Fantasy Sports Guild games. The commissioner reserves the right to remove teams at their discretion.

C) Impeding other owners
Certain transactions made solely to impede other owners are not allowed. In particular, protesting a trade merely to extend the trade time of an opponent`s players is strictly prohibited, and is grounds for expulsion from the game.

D) Roster Dumping
Dumping an entire roster to free agency directly undermines the competitiveness of the league and reduces league strength. Those owners who happen to have a higher waiver position at the time of the dump are consequently given an unfair advantage. If you choose to discontinue play please make your roster as competitive as possible and refrain from accessing the team or league (commissioner takeover may occur). Owners found to have dumped their roster will be warned and/or kicked out of the game completely.

E) Owner interaction
Although trash talking is allowed, threats and obscenities are not only against the Rules, they are illegal in many jurisdictions. Owners that are found to have sent threatening e-mail to another owner will be warned and/or kicked out of the game completely. This extends to Bulletin Board posts as well.

F) Offensive remarks
Any posts of a derogatory nature are strictly prohibited. This includes personal attacks and sexist or racist remarks. There will be a zero tolerance level - if someone in your league is violating this policy, please contact the commissioner.

Remember - the game is for fun! Creating confrontation in your league inevitably leads to a worse time for all involved. Play hard, but play fair!

13 total players ()=starters - 14 if you have a player legitimately placed on IR (identified by the system as injured see below).

These are strict player limits, no extra drafting of players (hoarding). You must end the draft with the position maximums.
Each team must always maintain 2QB, 3RB, 4WR/TE,2PK, and 2DF. Your team will not receive any points for the week until this issue is rectified. Input your starting lineup every week before the first game of the week (Note: could be a Thursday game). Roster violations will result in the loss of 40 fantasy points from the game.

Injured Reserve

Each team can place one player on IR only if the player is listed as injured with the red cross and the player must be listed as questionable, doubtful or out. In this case, the team can pick up an extra player at that position. The commish will drop a player if you do not correct the infraction.

2 pts per fumble recovery (includes a fumble by the opposing team out of the end zone)

Adds & Waivers

+ Once the game cycle has begun (usually Sunday and Monday night football, sometimes starts on Thursday) adds and waivers are blocked until mid-night Monday following Monday night football. The waiver process is worst to first. Teams place bids that are approved on Wednesday noon ET. After this waiver process, it will go to first come first serve.

No trades can be made after the trade deadline of 11/8/08.

Playoffs

Eight (8) teams make the playoffs (starting week 14)
+ Two division winners (based on record, then head to head, then total points)
+ The best records regardless of divsion - 5 teams (if there are ties, based on head to head then total points)
+ The next team with the highest total points (tie breaker is head to head, then division wins).
+ Playoff schedule will be set by ranking 1 thru 8 (1vs8,2vs7,3vs6 4vs5). Based on league Power Rankings - The Power Ranking formula considers three factors in evaluation -- Actual Win/Loss Record, YTD points and All Win/Loss Record (which would be your record if you played every team every week). Your team is compared to the rest of the league in each of these categories, with the best team in each category getting the highest rank (pts). For instance, in a 12 team league, the best team in each category would receive 12 rank pts and the worst team would receive 1 rank pt. Evaluate for all categories and add the rank pts together to get the final Power Rank.
